Laparoscopy
You may be referred to Dr Sumita Prabhakar if you present with symptoms such as pelvic pain, painful periods, discomfort during sexual intercourse, and infertility. When you meet with Dr Sumita, she will take a detailed history and complete appropriate examinations, ensuring that you are well-informed during every stage of assessment.
Colposcopy
If your PAP smear is abnormal, or if the appearance of the cervix or any other symptoms are raising concerns, your Doctor will refer you for a colposcopy. This is an office investigation, similar to a PAP smear, which is performed with a speculum. The colposcopist will look at the cervix with a magnifying binocular called a colposcope (see picture) to identify any abnormalities.
Menopause
Menopause is commonly experienced between the ages of 45-55 but can happen earlier. A full history is taken at appointments followed by a discussion of changes or problems for the patient at this time of her life.

Can Protect Foundation
Can Protect Foundation, a health sector NGO founded by Dr. Sumita Prabhakar in 2015, for the awareness of Breast and Cervical Cancer as well as total preventive women healthcare.
through this NGO, Dr. Prabhakar has done free breast screening of more than twenty thousand women in last 5 years.
Screening is looking for signs of disease (with the help of clinical breast examination, thermo mamogram or sono mammogram) such as breast cancer before a person has symptoms.
When breast cancer is found early, most women will get better and get back to their normal lives. This is because breast cancer treatment works best when the cancer is still small and has not spread outside the breast to other parts of the body.

Dr. Sumita Prabhakar regularly conducts free health checkups in slums, villages, urban areas and in schools. After conducting much research and working in her NGO Can Protect Foundation, she started two campaigns ‘Meri Maa Swasth Maa’ & 'Asha ki Kiran'.
Asha ki Kiran
Asha ki Kiran campaign started by Dr. Sumita Prabhakar. This campaign aims to give free training to Asha and Anganwadi workers which focused on capacity building, sensitization and training on Women's health after 35 years and Cancer Prevention and early detection. So far this training has been given to 650 Asha and Anganwadi workers.
Meri Maa Swasth Maa
An unprecedented campaign started by Dr Sumita Prabhakar ‘Meri Maa Swasth Maa’, in which Dr Sumita and her team of Doctors of Can Protect Foundation visit Government schools of Uttarakhand and conduct workshop on breast and cervical cancer prevention and awareness and educate school children about how they should take care of the health of their mothers and other family members.
